Elizabeth Colbert Busch Brings Up Mark Sanford's Affair in Debate (Video)

Posted on 8:48 AM by Unknown
Elizabeth Colbert Busch brought up Mark Sanford's infamous affair during last night's debate to the evident delight of the audience.  Mark Sanford responded like the idiot he is.

Watch it in the 31 second video clip below.

Politico:
Sanford spoke repeatedly about his extensive efforts as governor and House member to cut wasteful spending. Colbert Busch then turned to Sanford and delivered this zinger:
“When we talk about fiscal spending and we talk about protecting the taxpayers, it doesn’t mean you take the money we saved and leave the country for a personal purpose.”
That was a reference to Sanford’s use of state funds to fly to Argentina to visit his mistress and now fiancĂ©, an affair that derailed his political career four years ago.

“She went there, Governor Sanford,” one of the debate’s moderators responded.
With much of the crowd hooting and hollering, Sanford seemed shaken.
“I couldn’t hear what she said… repeat it, I didn’t hear,” he said.
“Answer the question,” Colbert Busch interjected.
“What was the question?” Sanford said, appearing stunned.“Ok, but anyway, ah ah, on the sequester, I’ll go back to the sequester…”

Billboard Uses Mark Sanford to Promote Extramarital Affairs, Heh (Photo)

Posted on 8:30 AM by Unknown

Great timing or what?  This online dating service uses a photo of Mark 'Appalachian Trail' Sanford to promote its dating service - with the slogan:  "LIFE IS TOO SHORT, HAVE AN AFFAIR." ..  LIKE MARK SANFORD DID, in other words.

 COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) -
Sanford is hitting the campaign trail hard following a Monday night debate with Democrat Elizabeth Colbert-Busch, part of their battle for the 1st Congressional District seat left vacant by now-Senator Tim Scott.

Meanwhile, in Columbia, AshleyMadison.com unveiled a billboard on Interstate 26 which shows a younger Mark Sanford smiling, next to the words, "Next time use....AshleyMadison.com to find your 'running mate'."

Tennessee Lawmakers Hope to Hurt Poor Families With Drug Test

Posted on 12:17 PM by Unknown

The state of Tennessee already treats poor women and children like they are garbage. Ever vigilant, our legislator creeps have found yet another way to inflict pain and misery.

As usual Tennessee lawmakers are targeting the most vulnerable Tennesseans with hostile and punitive legislation.  This latest will attempt to deprive poor families of help via TANF by requiring drug tests.

The expressed hope of the heartless soulless Republican lawmakers is to spend money on drug tests instead of helping poor families survive hard times.

The hope is not to treat the disease of drug addiction, the hope is to avoid helping poor families:

"Tennessee’s sponsor for the drug law, Sen. Stacey Campfield, R-Knoxville, said he’s not discouraged by what’s happening in other states, and he would consider the law successful if it drove down the number of applicants simply because they knew they would be tested."

And these are people who say they believe in heaven and hell.  Obviously that is just one more effing lie. There are no words for the depravity of our so-called 'leaders.'

The state of Tennessee loathes helping poor families as it is, even though the paltry monthly TANF benefit is low enough to make Ebenezer Scrooge proud.
A similar law is being challenged in Florida because it is unconstitutional.  Waiting for the state of Tennessee to be sued as well.

In Tennessee, the maximum monthly benefit for a parent and 2 children with no income is 185 lousy dollars.

Yeah, the state of Tennessee is ruled by freaking christian zealots whose first priority is harming poor folks. Churches should deny them entrance.

Idiot Stacey Campfield On Piers Morgan: 'When Are You Going Back to England?' (Video)

Posted on 3:30 PM by Unknown
Idiot Tennessee State Senator Stacey Campfield embarrasses Tennessee, and mortifies the nation, on the Piers Anthony show. Watch  Campfield attempt to explain his Boston Bomb pressure cooker joke and then insult his host.  Ugh.

As Bostonians and the rest of the nation continued to heal from the Boston Marathon bombings, "Piers Morgan Live" spoke to state Sen. Stacey Campfield who defended his controversial joke about pressure cookers in the wake of the bombings. The Tennessee Republican lawmaker posted a blog with a picture of an "assault pressure cooker" under the blog caption, "Here comes Feinstein again," likely intended to mock Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s defeated proposals on an assault weapons ban.

"We're talking about an inanimate object that does nothing by itself," said Campfield comparing a firearm to a pressure cooker. "It does absolutely nothing by itself just like a pressure cooker does absolutely nothing by itself."

"The joke was really about the left and how they push for gun control on inanimate objects just like pushing for spoon control for obesity, it doesn't do anything."

"He's by far the best qualified man," Mrs. Bush said, "but no."

"We've had enough Bushes," she said, saying "it's not just four families, or whatever."

On Wednesday, George W. Bush told CNN he thought Jeb Bush should run.

Humane Society TV AD Urges Gov. Haslam to Veto Pro Animal Abuse Bill (Video)

Posted on 10:51 AM by Unknown

via Humane Society of U.S. -  Tennessee TV Ads Call for Governor to Veto Whistleblower Suppression Bill -- The Humane Society of the United States places television ads against bill to ban undercover investigations

At a press conference at the state capitol, The Humane Society of the United States and Rep. Gloria Johnson, D-Knoxville District 13, screened a new television commercial showing violent abuse of horses from an investigation into the Tennessee walking horse industry. The commercial is the latest effort by The HSUS to urge Gov. Bill Haslam to veto SB1248, the special interest “ag-gag” bill.

Tennessean Editorial: Animal abuse bill should draw a veto --  Gov. Haslam: Please listen to the people of Tennessee. We believe that it’s wrong for anyone to put themselves out of reach of the justice system, and that without a free press, there is no way to prevent that from happening.

Elizabeth Colbert Busch Leading Mark Sanford by 9 Points!

Posted on 5:02 AM by Unknown

The Appalachian Trail guy should take another hike.  So long loser Mark Sanford.

Hello Congresswoman Colbert Busch.

Public Policy Polling has the numbers:

PPP's newest poll on the special election in South Carolina finds Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch expanding her lead to 9 points over Mark Sanford at 50/41 . . .

Although Sanford's unpopularity is clearly the main reason Democrats have a chance to win in this district, it's interesting to note that there is some backlash against Republicans over last week's vote on background checks. 86% of voters in the district say they support them to only 12% opposed, and 45% of voters say the GOP's opposition to them makes it less likely they'll support the party in the next election compared to only 21% who consider it a positive. . .

As much trouble as Sanford has created for himself it's worth noting that Colbert Busch has a 56% favorability rating, with just 31% of voters giving her poor marks.

GOP Pulls Plug on Flaky Mark Sanford

Posted on 1:50 PM by Unknown

Did Mark "Appalachian Trail Idiot" Sanford learn from his big mistake?

Obviously not.

South Carolina deserves better.  The country deserves better.

We deserve Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch!

Good news for Stephen Colbert's sister!!

National Republicans are pulling the plug on Mark Sanford’s suddenly besieged congressional campaign, POLITICO has learned — a potentially fatal blow to the former South Carolina governor’s dramatic comeback bid.

Blindsided by news that Sanford’s ex-wife has accused him of trespassing and concluding he has no plausible path to victory, the National Republican Congressional Committee has decided not to spend more money on Sanford’s behalf ahead of the May 7 special election.

The NRCC has spent a nominal amount on the race on polling and other activities. But officials determined that devoting potentially millions more — which was under discussion — isn’t worth it.

Jenny Sanford Accuses Mark Sanford of Trespassing

Posted on 8:49 AM by Unknown

Looks like the Appalachian Trail guy is in hot water again:

Republican congressional candidate Mark Sanford is accused of trespassing at his ex-wife’s home and faces a court appearance two days after the 1st District special election, according to published reports that surfaced late Tuesday night.

Jenny Sanford confronted her ex-husband as he was leaving her Sullivan’s Island home on Feb. 3.
He was not supposed to be at the house, according the filing, obtained by The Associated Press.
Her attorney filed a complaint the next day, the AP said. The timing of the case so close to the May 7 special election is sure to throw a wrench into a race where Sanford is widely seen as a favorite, though the female vote could sway events if Sanford’s conduct becomes an issue.

He faces Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch.

Salon: Tennessee lawmakers have elevated hatred for government and disgust for poor people to an art form

Posted on 9:00 AM by Unknown

The national media have a very low opinion of Tennessee.

Sad, but true:

Tennessee: Ayn Rand’s vision of paradise

The following article is part of AlterNet's ongoing series on poverty, Hard Times, USA.

 April 10, 2013
The southern state ranks dead last in per capita tax revenue, and its low-income families are paying the price

If you're worried about where America is heading, look no further than Tennessee. Its lush mountains and verdant rolling countryside belie a mean-spirited public policy that only makes sense if you believe deeply in the anti-collectivist, anti-altruist philosophy of Ayn Rand. It's what you get when you combine hatred for government with disgust for poor people.

Tennessee starves what little government it has, ranking dead last in per capita tax revenue. To fund its minimalist public sector, it makes sure that low-income residents pay as much as possible through heavily regressive sales taxes, which rank 10th highest among all states as a percent of total tax revenues. (For more detailed data see  here.)

Stacey Campfield Calls 8 Year Old Girl 'A Prop' to Her Face & Pulls Hated Welfare Bill After Protest (Videos)

Posted on 6:24 PM by Unknown

Watch Tennessee's national joke Stacy Campfield tell an 8 year old child to her face that she is just "a prop." The videos below do a great job of capturing the hateful arrogance of Campfield.

Nobody, not even his fellow Republicans can stand Stacey Campfield's hateful 'Starve the Children' welfare bill. Confronted by some 100 protesting parents and children, as well as opposition from Republicans, the mean and arrogant Campfield postponed his bill. We're sure Campfield hopes to find a way to make the bill even more harmful so he can continue to read about his ugly arrogant self all over the international media. How did Tennessee sink so low?

Children confront Senator Scrooge Campfield:

Greeting them along the way were "Stacey Campfield's Walk of Shame" signs, then a group of about 40 children and adults singing "Jesus Loves the Little Children" outside the Senate chamber. "It makes me mad because he's taking children's benefits," Aamira said. "People won't have their light bills paid." The groups Clergy for Justice, Stand for Children and Gideon's Army organized the event.
